Discover the world
of Chinese medicine.

From museum stories to a conversation with a practitioner, explore Chinese medicine with Kathy by your side. English-language support helps you ask questions, follow the explanations and feel part of the experience.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Experience

Explore the TCM Museum and Baicao Garden at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, followed by a practitioner consultation and one treatment, subject to suitability. Around 3.5 hours, with English-language support. Meet at the east gate on Jinke Road. Herbal medicines are charged separately.

Have a go.

Hear a new sound, step into a costume, and try something unfamiliar. Discover Chinese art through the people who keep it alive.

Step into Yue opera

Visit Zhao's Workshop in Sijing. Hear live singing, practise a short passage with an instructor, try an opera costume, and record your own attempt. Finish with tea and pastries.

Allow around 3–4 hours. Station-to-workshop transport is included. Stage makeup, hairstyling and return transport are not included. Zhao Zhigang does not teach or perform in this experience. Please contact us to confirm dates, availability and the final programme.

Do I need to speak Chinese?+

The Yue opera experience includes an English-speaking host. Singing and teaching are in Chinese, with your host helping you follow along.

Can I book directly on this website?+

For now, enquiries are handled directly. Dates, availability, price and payment arrangements are confirmed in conversation.
